Moses Otieno Kajwang is the serving Senator for Homa Bay County in Kenya’s bicameral Parliament, now in his third term. He is currently the chairperson of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts as well as the Committee on Climate Change, both roles sitting well with the organization’s focus on fiscal frugality as well as the paradigm shift on environmental conservation and climate change resilience initiatives. As the founder and director, Hon Kajwang is the vision bearer and the engine behind the establishment and running of LREN. He brings with him his vast professional experience which includes twelve years of technology leadership in the financial services and supply chain industries. His advocacy for inclusive social, political, and economic prosperity in Kenya and Africa which he currently does in his role as a people’s representative sits well with LREN’s aspiration to raise, and mobilize resources to oversee the alleviation of poverty and dependence through offering improved access to healthcare, education, technology and other socioeconomic elements of a prosperous society. Before joining Moses Otieno Kajwang served as General Manager, Information Technology at ICEA Lion General Insurance, as Leader, Information Technology at DHL Supply Chain, and at various times as Project Manager, Customer Relationship Management Systems; Manager, Information Technology; and Quality Assurance and Systems Administrator for UAP Holdings Kenya and UAP Insurance Uganda all of which are leading insurance and financial institutions in East Africa. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences from Moi University and a Master’s degree in Information Technology from Makerere University. Mr. Kajwang is also a member of the British Computer Society As the leader and manager at the aforementioned regional publicly-held corporations and public service institutions, Mr. Kajwang has gained significant experience in financial reporting, information technology, accounting, finance and capital management, resource mobilization, and international operations. His background provides the Board with broad expertise in donor funding and resource utilization for the benefit of the target population.
